Έθαψε επίσης τους αρχηγούς των Περσών, καθώς και τους Έλληνες μισθοφόρους που σκοτώθηκαν ενώ υπηρετούσαν στο πλευρό των εχθρών του· όσους όμως από αυτούς συνέλαβε αιχμαλώτους τους έδεσε με χειροπέδες και τους έστειλε στη Μακεδονία να δουλεύουν, επειδή παρά τις κοινές αποφάσεις των Ελλήνων, και μολονότι ήταν Έλληνες, πολέμησαν για χάρη των βαρβάρων εναντίον των συμφερόντων της Ελλάδος.

Not exactly sure about this, but as far as I can work out: about 65%-75% of Eastern Roman (Byzantine, Rhom) Emperors (330 A.D. to 1453 A.D. - though effectively we were Down and almost Out c. 1204) were either Hellenes (Greeks) or had at least one Hellene (Greek) parent or grandparent; about 15-25% were non-Hellenic Romans (from Italy), about 7% Armenians, and about 3% Arabs and Slavs. The point is though, since our Empire Straddled and Commanded large parts of two Continents, all were immersed in Greek and or Latin language, Religion (Orthodox Christianity), Roman Law and Elements of Ancient Greek Democracy of the Polis as adapted to imperial conditions and the Cosmopolis (Contogeorgis). It is NO ACCIDENT, that the Satanic Circus Monkey had ABSOLUTELY NO ROLE of any significance to play in the (running of the) Empire, apart from whatever might pertain to ??????al and ??????ous matters duly adapted to and converted into Hellenism as Romanism. Οικοκυρικής Βιοτεχνικής Επαγγελματικής Σχολής «Το Ελληνικό Σπίτι», αλλά
και στη συνέχεια προσφέροντας τις υπηρεσίες της στο μέτωπο της Ηπείρου,
προκειμένου να ενισχύσει τον αγώνα, μετά την κήρυξη
του πολέμου το 1940.

Ξενοφῶν Κοντιάδης – Ὁ μέγας ἄγνωστος νεκρὸς τοῦ ἔπους τοῦ 40’
Όταν, την 28η Οκτωβρίου 1940, ο Καθηγητής της Χειρουργικής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, Διευθυντής της Παν/κής Χειρουργικής Κλινικής του Ιπποκράτειου Νοσοκομείου, Ξενοφών Κοντιάδης από την Ήπειρο τελείωσε την παράδοσή του, αποχαιρέτησε τους φοιτητές του λέγοντας: «Κύριοι, γνωρίζετε τι συνέβη στην Πατρίδα μας. Πιστεύω ότι ο καθείς θα πράξη το καθήκον του. Σας εύχομαι καλήν τύχην. Το μάθημα ετελείωσεν».
Με δική του αίτηση και επίμονες πιέσεις μετετέθη στο μέτωπο και τοποθετήθηκε διευθυντής του Στρατιωτικού Νοσοκομείου Ιωαννίνων που στεγάζονταν στην Ζωσιμαία Παιδαγωγική Ακαδημία Ιωαννίνων.
Την 20 Απριλίου 1941, ανήμερα το Πάσχα, ο Ξενοφών Κοντιάδης βρισκόταν στο χειρουργείο με το νυστέρι στο χέρι, εκτελώντας το ιατρικό του καθήκον. Εκεί τον βρήκε ο θάνατος από τις οβίδες της ιταλικής και γερμανικής ναζιστικής αεροπορίας οι οποίες, παραβαίνοντας τους Διεθνείς κανόνες, βομβάρδισαν το Νοσοκομείο που έφερε το σήμα του Ερυθρού Σταυρού. Στον βομβαρδισμό χάθηκαν 50 άνθρωποι (ιατροί, νοσηλευτές και ασθενείς).
Ο Ξενοφών Κοντιάδης κατέλαβε εξέχουσα θέση στο Πάνθεο των Ηρώων και θεωρήθηκε η μεγαλύτερη επιστημονική απώλεια του πολέμου 40-41.
